The Ohio Department of Transportation’s Office of Local Programs will soon begin the FY16 solicitation cycle for the Small City, Municipal Bridge, and TAP funding programs. Applications for the Small City and Municipal Bridge programs will be accepted January 1st through March 1st, 2016, while Letters of Interest for the TAP program will be accepted January 1st through February 1st, 2016.
Small Cities
The Small Cities program provides federal funds to small cities with populations from 5,000 to 24,999 that are not located within Metropolitan Planning Organizations’ (MPO) boundaries. This program may be used by the incorporated localities for any road, safety or signal project on the Federal-aid system.
Municipal Bridge
The Municipal Bridge Program provides federal funds to municipal corporations and Regional Transit Authorities for bridge replacement or bridge rehabilitation.
Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP)
The TAP provides funding for projects such as on- and off-road pedestrian and bicycle facilities, infrastructure projects for improving non-driver access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, environmental mitigation, recreational trail program projects and safe routes to school projects.
