Now is Time to Add Transportation Projects to the OVRDC Regional Transportation Priority List

For the next two months, OVRDC is asking for counties, cities, villages, and non-profits to add your future transportation projects to the regional priority project list.

Every two years, in conjunction with the Ohio Department of Transportation’s State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) cycle, OVRDC updates the Long Range Transportation Plan Regional Priority Project List (Appendix B). Projects must be included on this list to be eligible for OVRDC Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) funding and potentially other future funding. OVRDC also uses this list for various other reasons. The current priority project list is online here.

“Getting your project added to the regional project list for the STIP is going to be more important than ever. The project list has changed from a reporting requirement to an important prospect list and potential source to identify fundable projects that qualify for the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) program. Also, with the upcoming update to our Comprehensive Transportation Plan, we are looking at the potential for more growth with OVRDC’s Regional Transportation Planning Organization program. Projects placed on this year’s list will be the only ones eligible for funding through the STBG program and will demonstrate to our state partners how every year we have a long list of important transportation projects that go unfunded due to a need for additional allocations for the program,” said Jacob Taylor, OVRDC Transportation Planning Specialist.

Please use this form to submit projects to be added to the list. The updated project list will not become official until it is voted on for adoption by the OVRDC Executive Committee in the spring of 2025.

The deadline to submit projects to the list is January 15, 2025. You may also submit projects by contacting Transportation Planning Specialist, Jacob Taylor at jtaylor@ovrdc.org or 740-947-2853.
