The Donald R. Myers Legacy Fund Grant Opportunity is Now Accepting Applications
At this year’s County Caucus meetings, OVRDC Executive Director John Hemmings shared information about the Donald R. Myers Legacy Fund with attendees. The Donald R. Myers Legacy Fund to Support Partnership in Appalachian Ohio was created to honor the legacy of Don Myers in 2008. The Fund was established by the family of Mr. Myers and recognizes his service as the longtime executive director of the Ohio Mid-Eastern Governments Alliance (OMEGA) and the president of the Eastern Ohio Development Alliance (EODA). The Fund encourages and supports Appalachian Ohio’s nonprofit and government organizations in collaborative activities that support a better quality of life for all Appalachian residents.
The Donald R. Myers Legacy Fund supports projects and activities of nonprofit organizations in the 32 Appalachian counties in Ohio that improve quality of life with an emphasis on concerns Mr. Myers worked tirelessly to address including education, regional networking opportunities, support for community leaders, and fulfillment of basic needs.
Last year’s winners included initiatives that focused on improving children’s lives.
