In 2012, Ohio Valley Regional Development Commission (OVRDC) began providing basic geographic positioning system (GPS) data collection to small communities and municipalities to collect assets such as municipal water and sewer. OVRDC works with the participating community to map water lines, valves, hydrants, sewer lines and many other features to help assess the current state of infrastructure. Deliverables typically include hard copy maps, mapbooks and online map portals like the example seen above.
